Terms & conditions

  1. All clients will be deemed to have accepted Precious Paws terms and conditions (as laid out here) on signature of the Consent Form.
  2. Precious Paws will not confirm any booking until a consultation has been carried out with the client and the Consent form and About My Pup form with full details of client requirements, has been signed by the client.
  3. Full payment for services (agreed either at time of booking or subsequently) is to be made by the last working day of the week or on the last day your dog is walked, whichever is sooner (for regular dog walking clients) via cash, cheque or bank transfer.
  4. The client must provide all items necessary for pets to be adequately cared for in the client's absence. (ie, food, medication, leads, tags, collars etc). Should pets require any additional supplies whilst in the care of Precious Paws, these will be purchased and added to the bill.
  5. If it is necessary for keys to be picked up or dropped off in order to complete an assignment charges will be applied for each trip.
  6. The client must provide Precious Paws with the name and contact number of someone capable of making a decision relating to the pet(s) in an emergency. If the contact is not available Precious Paws reserves the right to consult with a veterinary surgeon and then make a decision which is in the best interests of the animal. Precious Paws will take your pet to the vet listed on the booking form but if immediate treatment is needed then your pet will be taken to the nearest vet to the location.
  7. The client is responsible for any veterinary bills, no matter how they are incurred, whilst pets are in the care of Precious Paws.
  8. Precious Paws must be alerted to any behavioural problems with their pets at the time of booking. Failure to do so may result in additional charges or cancellation of any future contract.
  9. Although Precious Paws is insured for Public Liability, wherever possible pets should be insured by the client.
  10. Precious Paws will care for your animal as you would, and whilst making every effort to ensure your pet is well looked after in your absence, Precious Paws cannot be held liable for any loss, injury or death to a pet either inside or outside of the home whilst in our care.

Terms and Conditions - Dog Walking

  1. Cancellations – for cancellations of walks for a period of 1 week or more one months notice is required. For cancellations of 1 or 2 days walks a weeks notice is required. If the required notice is not given charges will be applied in full for the cancelled period.
  2. All dogs being exercised must be fully vaccinated and on a regular flea and worm control regime.
  3. All dogs being walked will undergo a trial period to ensure that they are adequately trained and socialised.
  4. Precious Paws reserves the right to cancel the contract at any time & with immediate effect if the dog does not respond well to the walker and/or other dogs ( Social walk being agreed before hand with the owner).
  5. All dogs will be exercised on a lead unless prior agreement has been reached with Precious Paws and a disclaimer form has been signed.
  6. The walker will apply personal judgment and cut short a walk if necessary because of extreme weather conditions (i.e., heat, thunder storms) for the safety of both the dogs and the walker.
  7. If dogs require a quick towelling off after walks towels must be provided and left by the front door.
  8. The client will supply suitable collars or harnesses and leads ( and when necessary muzzles) for the dog and any coats or other accessories which the client wishes to be used. Precious Paws will be entitled to refuse to walk the dog if a suitable collar or harness and lead (and muzzle) is not provided and to be paid in full as though that walk had taken place.
  9. All dogs must wear a suitable collar containing an identification tag as stated in the The Control of Dogs order (1992)

Terms and Conditions - Pet Sitting/day care/boarding

  1. All pet sitting bookings are subject to a 50% non-refundable deposit payable in advance. The remaining 50% to be paid at the beginning of the assigned care period.
  2. Cancellations for bookings of over 1 week must be made more than 1 week in advance and for less than a week 48 hrs in advance or the full rate for the cancelled period will be charged.
  3. The client must phone Precious Paws as soon as they return home. Precious Paws will continue to visit the property and care for pets until the client has confirmed that the pet(s) are now back in their care. Clients will be charged the full daily rate for any unnecessary additional visits made.
  4. The client should notify their neighbours and their home insurance company that Precious Paws will be visiting the property in the client's absence.
  5. The client is to provide all items suitable for their pets care, this includes habitat, replacement substrate(cat litter for cats), food and toys/environmental enrichment.
